Universal Post Extender – Galvanised lets you increase the height of an existing timber fence or gate post without replacing it. The heavy-duty galvanised steel angle bracket fixes to the side of the original post to create a rigid extension point for new rails, panels or trellis, making it a fast, no-dig upgrade with long-lasting corrosion resistance.

Instructions for Use

1. Confirm the existing post and base are sound and plumb. Replace severely decayed timber.
2. Clamp the extender to the side of the post at the required height; check alignment with the fence line.
3. Secure through the bracket holes with corrosion-resistant exterior fixings (e.g. coach screws). Do not overtighten.
4. Fix the new extension timber or trellis to the bracket. Re-check all fixings after initial settling.

Limitations & Precautions

• Not a substitute for engineered design in high wind-load locations; assess fence line and use additional bracing if required.
• Install only to sound, stable posts; do not use on rotten or loose posts without repair.
• Treat any newly cut end-grain on timber with a suitable preservative before assembly.
