Bathroom Door Lock

Bathroom door locks (often called WC locks or privacy locks) are designed for internal doors where you need privacy rather than high security. Typically operated by a thumbturn from inside the room, they allow the door to be locked quickly and easily, with an external emergency/coin release for safety—ideal for family homes, rentals and multi-occupancy properties.

Most bathroom locks are fitted as mortice locks within the door edge and are used with lever handles and matching WC bathroom turn sets. When choosing a replacement, measure the backset and confirm the case size so the new lock aligns with your existing handle position and fits the mortice pocket with minimal alteration. You can then match the finish of the turn/release and faceplate to your other door furniture for a consistent look across the home.
