Solvent-Free, Deep-Penetrating Protection for Timber
Sikagard® Wood Preserver Clear is a low-odour, solvent-free wood treatment designed to protect timber from wet rot, dry rot, decay, fungi, and wood-boring insects. Utilizing micro-fine active technology, it ensures deep penetration into the wood, providing long-lasting protection. Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it can be applied to damp timbers without compromising performance.

Ideal For

Product Details
- Colour: Clear liquid.
- Packaging: 5-litre tin.
- Coverage: Approximately 3–4 m² per litre.
- Drying Time: Allow at least 2 hours between coats.
- Shelf Life: Use within 2 years of manufacture.
- Storage Conditions: Store between +5°C and +25°C in original containers.
Application Instructions
- Surface Preparation: Ensure timber is clean and free from coatings.
- Application: Shake well before use. Apply by brush, spray, or dipping. Apply a minimum of two coats, allowing at least 2 hours between coats.
- End Grain Treatment: Pay special attention to end grains. Where possible, dip or flood these areas for a minimum of 3 minutes.
- Overcoating: Allow to dry fully (typically 48 hours indoors) before applying paint, stain, or varnish.
Limitations
- Not suitable for surfaces in contact with food.
- Avoid contact with bitumen, roofing felt, or plastics.
- External timbers should be overcoated to reduce environmental impact.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean tools with water or appropriate solvent immediately after use.
