Mapei Topcem is a special hydraulic binder formulated for the preparation of fast-drying, shrinkage-compensated screeds. When mixed with aggregate and water on site, Topcem produces screeds that are ready to receive flooring in as little as 24 hours (ceramics) and 4 days (resilient or wood flooring). Ideal for both bonded and unbonded screeds, Topcem is the perfect solution where time-sensitive floor installations are required in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Application Instructions

Substrate Preparation: Ensure the substrate is stable, clean, and free from oil, dust, and loose material.

Mixing: Mix Topcem with clean, damp screed-grade sand (0–8mm) and water using a forced-action mixer.

Apply Screed: Place, level, and compact the screed as per standard screeding practice.

Curing: Protect from rapid drying and cover if exposed to direct sunlight or wind.

Flooring Installation: Tiles may be laid after 24 hours; resilient or wood flooring after 4 days.
Limitations
- Do not mix with other binders or cement.
- Not suitable for screeds thinner than 35mm unless bonded.
- Do not apply at temperatures below +5°C or above +35°C.
