Solvent-Based Primer for Interior and Exterior Wood and Metal Surfaces
Biokil Crown Wood Primer Undercoat is a high-opacity, solvent-based primer designed to provide a dense, uniform basecoat for both wood and metal surfaces. Suitable for interior and exterior applications, it ensures excellent adhesion and a smooth finish, making it ideal for new work and refurbishment projects.

Product Details
- Colour: Brilliant White.
- Finish: Semi-matt.
- Packaging: Available in 5-litre containers.
- Coverage: Approximately 14 m² per litre, depending on substrate porosity.
- Drying Time: Touch dry in 4–6 hours; recoatable after 16–24 hours.
- Thinning: For hardwoods, thin with 10% white spirit to enhance penetration.
- Application Methods: Brush, roller, or spray.
- Storage: Store in a secure, upright position away from heat and flame.
Application Instructions
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking materials. Prime bare surfaces with the appropriate primer. Sand previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.
- Mixing: Stir thoroughly before use.
- Application: Apply evenly using a brush, roller, or spray. Do not apply over polystyrene surfaces.
- Drying: Allow to dry for 4–6 hours before handling; wait 16–24 hours before recoating.
Limitations
- Not suitable for application over polystyrene surfaces.
- Avoid application in conditions of high humidity or if the room temperature is below 10°C.
- Ensure maximum ventilation during application and drying.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean all tools and equipment with white spirit or turpentine substitute immediately after use.
