Mapei Silancolor Tonachino is a fibre-reinforced, silicone resin-based plaster in paste form, ideal for creating attractive, rustic-textured finishes on both internal and external surfaces. Combining the benefits of mineral and synthetic coatings, it offers excellent water repellence and high vapour permeability, ensuring long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal.

  • 0.7 mm: 1.7–2.0 kg/m²
  • 1.2 mm: 1.9–2.3 kg/m²
  • 1.5 mm: 2.2–2.6 kg/m²
  • 2.0 mm: 2.6–3.0 kg/m²
• Recoat Time: 24 hours.
• Application Methods: Trowel or spray.
• Cleaning: Tools can be cleaned with water before the plaster dries.
• Storage: 24 months in original unopened packaging.

Application Instructions

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking materials. Remove any traces of oil, grease, or old paint. Repair any cracks or damaged areas with suitable Mapei repair mortars.
2. Priming: Apply Silancolor Primer or Silancolor Base Coat to the prepared surface and allow it to dry for 12–24 hours.
3. Product Preparation: Stir Silancolor Tonachino thoroughly before use. If necessary, dilute with 1–2% water to achieve the desired consistency.
4. Application: Apply the plaster using a stainless steel or plastic trowel on the dry primer or base coat. Spread the product in a uniform layer and level with a plastic trowel to create an even finish or use a damp sponge float to obtain the desired final effect.
5. Finishing: Depending on the grain size and substrate roughness, a second layer may be applied after 24 hours to achieve a perfectly homogeneous finish.

Limitations

• Do not apply on damp substrates or substrates that are not cured.
• Avoid application if the temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C.
• Do not apply if the relative humidity is higher than 85% or if rain is expected.
