Kingfisher Asbestos Roof Coating is a solvent-free, styrene-acrylic polymer system designed to encapsulate fibres and waterproof aged asbestos cement (AC) roof sheets. It forms a durable, UV-resistant shell that seals porous surfaces and enhances the roof’s appearance. Suitable for domestic, commercial, agricultural, and industrial pitched roofs, it provides up to 10 years of weather protection when applied correctly.

Product & Technical Details

• Colours: Black, Stoker Grey, Dove Grey.

• Coverage: Approximately 4–6 m² per litre, depending on surface porosity.
• Drying Time: 4–8 hours per coat at 20 °C; full cure in 24 hours.
• Application Temperature: +7 °C to +35 °C.
• Service Temperature: –20 °C to +50 °C.

Suitable Substrates

• Corrugated asbestos cement roof sheets.
• Some cement fibre sheets (verify suitability before application).

Application Instructions

1. Surface Preparation: Pre-treat the roof with Kingfisher Bio Wash to eliminate moss, mould, and lichens. Allow seven days for activation.
2. Cleaning: Dampen the surface to suppress dust and remove debris manually. Avoid high-pressure washing to prevent fibre release.
3. Repairs: Address any damaged areas using appropriate sealants or repair materials.
4. Priming: Apply Kingfisher Asbestos Sealer & Primer to stabilize the surface, especially on porous or friable areas.
5. Coating: Apply two coats of Asbestos Roof Coating by brush or airless spray, allowing 4–8 hours drying time between coats.

Limitations & Safety

• For use on pitched roofs only; not suitable for flat roofs.
• Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during application.
• Wear appropriate PPE when handling asbestos-containing materials.
• Dispose of waste in accordance with local regulations.
