Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant for Windows, Doors & Brickwork
Dow Corning 796 (also known as DOWSIL™ 796) is a one-part, low-modulus, neutral-curing silicone sealant ideal for exterior perimeter sealing. It delivers excellent adhesion to PVC-u, aluminium, wood, glass, and brickwork—making it perfect for weatherproofing window and door frames, glazing joints, and brick-to-frame interfaces.
Key Features & Benefits
- Neutral Cure: Non-corrosive and safe for sensitive materials like sealed glass—no primer needed in many cases.
- Low Modulus & Highly Elastic: Accommodates up to ±25 % joint movement.
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds to PVC-u, aluminium, painted surfaces, masonry, and glazed areas—without priming.
- Fast Skin-Over Time: Forms a skin in approximately 15 minutes and is tack-free in around 35 minutes at 23 °C/50 % RH.
- Durable & Weather-Resistant: Excellent resistance to UV, ozone, and extreme temperatures.
- Compliant with Standards: Meets ISO 11600 F&G Class 25 LM, and other international specs.
