High-Performance Fire-Resistant & Acoustic Acrylic Sealant
EVERBUILD® Fire Mate® is a one-part, emulsion acrylic-based, intumescent acoustic sealant designed to provide up to 4 hours of fire resistance in suitably designed joints. Upon exposure to temperatures exceeding 125°C, it swells more than 150% of its original size, forming a char that impedes the passage of fire and smoke. Additionally, it offers excellent acoustic properties, making it suitable for soundproofing applications.

Application Instructions
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants.
- Remove any loose or flaking surface coatings and old sealant or mastic joints.
- For improved adhesion, wipe surfaces with EVERBUILD® Glass Cleaner and allow to dry.
- Cut the tip of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the thread.
- Attach the nozzle and cut at a 45° angle to the desired bead width.
- Apply using a standard sealant gun, maintaining even pressure and a consistent angle.
- Smooth the sealant with a spatula or a piece of wood wetted with linseed oil or white spirits.
- For improved joint appearance, apply masking tape to both sides of the joint and remove within 5 minutes of application.
Limitations
- Not suitable for use on substrates that may bleed oils, solvents, or plasticisers.
- Not intended for joints that are constantly immersed in water or as part of structural glazing systems.
- May have compatibility issues with some cPVC piping; testing is recommended prior to full application.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean tools immediately after use with a damp cloth. Once cured, the sealant can only be removed mechanically.
