Waterproof Fixings for Newton Cavity Drainage Membranes with Integral Rubber Seal

Newton Nu-Seal Plugs are specialist fixing plugs designed for securing Newton cavity drainage membranes to concrete, brick, and block substrates. Each plug features a pre-fitted rubber sealing washer that compresses upon installation, forming a watertight seal around the fixing point. This makes Nu-Seal Plugs ideal for use with Newton System 500 membranes such as Newton 508 and 803, ensuring membrane integrity and preventing water tracking through fixing holes in damp or basement environments.

Application Instructions

Drill Fixing Holes: Use a 10mm drill bit to drill into the substrate at 250mm centres.
Insert Plug: Position the plug through the membrane and tap into the hole until flush with the membrane surface.
Compress Seal: Ensure the rubber washer compresses evenly to form a watertight seal around the fixing.
Optional Fixing: If required, drive a No. 10 screw through the plug to secure battens or drylining systems.

Limitations

Not suitable for use on soft substrates such as cob or chalk – use Newton 800 Cob Plugs instead.
Correct installation is essential to maintain the waterproof seal – do not overtighten screws.
